In a sense China is already the new power. The Chineses do what they want, and nobody talks too loud against them. For example, the property rights (they write : Repatented in China on your products and they sell them as if it was theirs), ... You open your business there and after a few years they decide that it is theirs and you become a member of the board of directors with not much to say.
But, now that many journalists and people are over there, we have much more insights of what is going on and in many aspects they are in deep shit and the dangers of social implosions are real.
But China is not the only containder.... India with his almost a billion people is getting stronger too. And Africa is developping rapidly too (no wonder why Bill Gates is always there).
The thing though: China is present in India and Africa and has very strong relations (politics and economics) with them, while we don't.
